American Candy Taste Test

The lovely people over at American Soda sent me some American candy to try during the week and you have no idea how excited I was when the box arrived. I got to choose what I was sent so I picked things I had never tried, besides the Hershey's bar because I am in love with it.

I've decided to put a twist on my first impressions of everything by describing it using emojis!

Apple's Smiling Face With Heart-Shaped Eyes
I have never loved sugar so much. If there's a blue raspberry option, I always go for it but America hits it on the nail with this flavour! Think 'wham' bars but chewy.

Apple's Thinking Face
I don't know what to think about these guys. I love the green, orange and red ones but the blue and yellow ones aren't great. The blue ones disappointed me the most but the jelly baby-like texture kind of made up for the flavour. If it was just three flavours, I would love these but the blue and yellow jellies have really let me down.

Apple's Face Throwing a Kiss
Yes! I love trying new oreo flavours because we don't have a great selection in Ireland. I was completely torn between birthday cake oreos or heads and tails but I ended up going with these beauties! The flavour combination is so good! The only thing I didn't like was that it wasn't really 'double stuf'. Our double stuff oreos are actually double stuff so in that sense, I prefer the Irish ones. Based on flavour, heads and tails stole my heart!

Apple's Face Savouring Delicious Food
Although I can't place the exact flavour of Swedish Fish, I love them! The slightly harder outer shell is nice and the inside is chewy but not chewy enough to get stuck on your teeth! I wouldn't go as far as saying I prefer these over Haribos but they're a pretty close match!

Apple's Smiling Face With Open Mouth and Tightly-Closed Eyes
You can't go wrong with watermelon flavour anything. I can't fault this chewing gum at all. The flavour lasts for ages and it doesn't taste too artificial.

Apple's White Smiling Face
A lot of people don't like Hershey's but I love it. I think it tastes like M&Ms which are my favourite type of chocolate.  Love love love this bar dunked into tea!

Apple's Party PopperApple's Party PopperApple's Party Popper
I love the watermelon jellies you buy in sweet shops like Auntie Nellie's but Sour Patch Watermelon knocked the ball out of the park! I think I've eaten half the bag, that's how good they are! I definitely prefer these to Sour Patch Kids!

If you're interested in buying any of the sweets I tried check out www.americansoda.co.uk
Delivery is super quick and they have a wide range of American products!

Let me know what I should try next in the comments below!

Lush Summer

The fabulous people over at Lush held an event in early September to celebrate their summer collection and 20 years of Lush!

We got to see demos of the absolutely fantastic bath bombs, hair products, shower gels and so much more. I went to Lush on Oxford Street the week beforehand so I had seen most of the new products but I was so excited to learn about how each product worked and the benefits of it.

Some of my favourite bath bombs got a new look in celebration of 20 years of Lush. The collection also had some new additions including the fanciful Frozen bath bomb.

After playing 'Let It Go' while Frozen was dropped into the water, I know that next time I use it, I will definitely be watching the movie and relaxing in the rose oil. Frozen will definitely be a favourite amongst kids!

The Comforter finally making it into a shower gel has made me incredibly happy. Don't Rain On My Parade has got to be my favourite shower gel because it smells exactly like Parma Violets. Parma Violets are my all-time favourite sweets and now I can smell like them!

Lush's new collection is one of my favourite collections to date!
If you haven't been to your local store lately, I would definitely get down there soon!

Have you bought anything from the new collection at Lush?
Do you have any favourites?

August Favourites

I cannot believe I'm doing my August favourites already! The year has flown by but it's almost autumn. I love autumn, it's my favourite season. I love how the tress change colour and the leaves slowly start to fall. It is such a beautiful season!

I found this bronzer in my room before I went to London so I can't tell you how much it was but I can tell you that I am totally in love. When I first opened it, I thought it was a shimmer bronzer and I only wear matte bronzers but I was so glad to discover it was only a sheen on the top layer! If you find yourself near a NEXT store or browsing their site, I would definitely buy this bronzer. It is so pigmented and stays on all day!

After I got a bit of a tan, I didn't really want to wear a full face of makeup at night. Healthy Mix concealer gave me full coverage where I wanted it and it lasted all night. If you're looking for a full coverage concealer, look no further than Bourjois' Healthy Mix concealer!

Hands up if an eye makeup remover has ever made you cry. Literally every single eye makeup remover I have ever used has made me cry. That is why I love this L'Oréal Gentle Make-up Remover. It removes all of my eye makeup and doesn't sting at all! It doesn't leave any residue either which is great because I no longer wake up with panda eyes. I cannot recommend any eye makeup remover better than this one!

Shamelessly binge watched this show on Netflix this month. I don't know if it's available on the Irish version of Netflix but I use the American one on my tv.  This show centres around Danny (Avan Jogia), who returns to his hometown after serving five years in juvenile detention. It is definitely worth checking out and you should definitely try to find a link online!

I bought a maroon wallet. No surprises there..... my obsession with the colour has reached a new high! I bought this wallet in Duty Free when I was flying home but you can buy it online for €25.90 on the Accessorize website. I have so many cards in my current wallet that I needed to buy one with more space and I absolutely love this one. Although it is called a chunky wallet, it's actually quite slimline and does not take up that much space in my bag.

I'm a sucker for nude lipsticks. I was so excited when Rimmel brought out their Kate Moss Nude collection. Shade 42 is definitely my favourite one. I have so many nude lipsticks so a lot of them are similar but Shade 42 has a pink undertone. I usually don't go for nudes with a pink undertone but I love this one!

It's no secret that I love Harry Potter. I was so excited when I saw the pyjama collection in Penneys and I bought the Marauder's Map bottoms and they are so comfortable. When I was in Primark in London, I noticed that the collection was different in the UK. I saw this nightshirt and I just had to buy it! I absolutely adore nightshirts because they are the perfect thing to lounge around in. I bought the Harry Potter nightshirt in large because I wanted something big to lounge around in and I am in love with it! I would definitely pick it up if you're near a Primark store soon!

What is your favourite season?
Have you tried any of this month's favourites before?

London Makeup Haul

If you follow me on social media, you'll know that I was in London towards the end of August. While there, I couldn't help picking up some makeup in Superdrug and other stores that we don't have in Ireland!

I picked up products from Makeup Revolution, MUA, KIKO, the Make Up Store and L'Oréal.

Makeup Revolution is one of my favourite budget beauty brands. They are fantastic at releasing great quality dupes for high end products. Their Blushing Hearts collection is a dupe of Too Faced's Sweetheart Blush collection. I have been lusting over Goddess of Love for months and I was so happy that it was in stock. Goddess of Love is a triple baked highlighter that gives off a golden sheen. I have not used it yet but I cannot wait to review it for you guys!

Goddess of Love can be bought in selected Superdrug stores and on the Makeup Revolution website for £4.99.

The Good Life Mono Eyeshadow is a gorgeous highlight shade with a pink sheen. I bought this shade with the intention to use it in maroon smokey eyes for the autumn and winter months.

All of the Mono Eyeshadows can be bought in selected Superdrug stores or on the Makeup Revolution website for £1.

I have heard so many great things about MUA LUXE's Bronze & Sculpt Contour Kit that I just had to try it for myself!

The Bronzer and Highlighter are both lightweight powders that I cannot wait to try out.
At only £5, this contour kit can definitely give other kits a run for their money!

You can buy the Bronze & Sculpt Contour Kit in Superdrug stores and on the MUA website!

KIKO is an Italian makeup brand that have stores across Europe. Their store on Regent Street is the closest to us and it is always packed! There were so many Infinity Eyeshadows that I would have loved but the majority of the shades I wanted were not in stock. In the end I picked up Shade 284 - Silver.

All of the Infinity Eyeshadows were on sale for £1.80, you can also purchase them from the KIKO website.

The Make Up Store is a Swedish makeup brand that has taken European bloggers by storm over the past few months. I came across the store when I was exploring Shoreditch and decided to take a look at the shops in Boxpark.

Diva is one of their Microshadows and I love the maroon shade so much. Obviously my obsession with the colour has spread through my lipstick collection and into my eyeshadow collection.

The second product I picked up in the Make Up Store was their Tinted Eye Primer. I needed a new primer because I am not a fan of MUA's primer. Honestly, I just don't think it works.

The primer usually retails for £13 and the eyeshadow is normally £11.
The Makeup Store had a sale on so I picked up the eyeshadow and the primer for £5 each!

Liquid eyeliner is a staple in my makeup bag and I lost mine on the second day. Funnily enough I found it when I arrived home but I still caved and bought one while I was over there. I am no stranger to L'Oréal's Super Liner range but I have never tried the Ultra Precision one so I had to buy it when I saw it in Boots! The gold packaging was also pretty nice....

The Super Liner eyeliner cost £6.49 in Boots.

Have you tried any of these brands before?
What did you think of them?
