Masks You Should Be Wearing This Halloween

Hey guys!

I hope you're keeping well. For those of us in Ireland, the next five weeks might be dark and cold but that does not mean there is no light at the end of the tunnel. After this lockdown hopefully, people will have learned that when restrictions ease, life does not go back to normal. We have to remain cautious and careful about who we see, how often and where. If we all stick together and stay at home, things will improve!

On that note, I have done a roundup of my favourite masks for scary skin and horror hair this Halloween! We may not be able to go out but we can certainly take care of ourselves whilst staying in.

Jessica Graaf Reusable Barrier Masks

Possibly the most important mask you should be wearing this Halloween is a mask when you are on public transport, grocery shopping or out for essential reasons!

I love Jessica Graaf's masks. They are the only ones I have used since reusable masks became easier to purchase during the summer. The masks are cotton, breathable, light and the designs are just gorgeous!

I am really hoping there is a Christmas line as well!

I have bought all of my masks in Supervalu but you can buy them on the Jessica Graaf website as well, they retail for €5 in both.

Garnier Fresh-Mix Vitamin C Tissue Mask

I love sheet masks. Some find them messy but I absolutely love them! The Garnier Fresh-Mix masks are so good as well because each mask has the equivalent of one bottle of serum! This mask leaves my skin feeling smooth and hydrated.

This mask is cool and refreshing and I would definitely recommend using it if your skin needs a pick me up. The tissue mask does not contain any animal ingredients or by-products!

Garnier Fresh-Mix Vitamin C Tissue Masks are available from Boots for €4.99.

No7 Instant Results Nourishing Hydration Mask

I love this mask because it's a cream mask that does not dry out your skin at all. Finding a mask that does not dry out your skin and gives it all the fab benefits that it claims to do is HARD! I have dry skin and at the moment it is more irritated due to wearing face masks but this does not irritate it any further.

The formula is quite thick which some people may not like but the hydration I get from this is unparalleled and I have also noticed my pores look smaller (not sure if this is a side effect of this mask or my skincare regimen at the moment as a whole).

The No7 Instant Results Nourishing Hydration Mask is available from Boots for €15 and is currently in the a buy one get one 50% offer.

Garnier Moisture Bomb Orange Juice Eye Sheet Mask

I originally received this eye mask as a Christmas present from the Garnier last year and used it after a night out because my under-eyes were in desperate need of some rejuvenation! These are cooling as well as soothing and really give tired eyes an extra boost.

I have tried these both with and without putting them into the fridge and definitely prefer the results I get when they are put into the fridge a few hours before I use them.

These smell great and I love taking my Real Techniques Under Eye Reviver to use any excess product afterwards!

Garnier's Moisture Bomb Eye Sheet Mask is available from Boots for €3.99 and is currently in their 3 for 2 offer!
Real Technique's Under Eye Reviver is part of the Prep + Prime Skincare Brush Set available from ASOS for €31.99.

L'Oréal  Elvive Dream Lengths Hair Mask
I love a good hair mask. I have long hair so looking after my length, especially the ends, is so important to me. I have changed up my shampoos and conditioners recently but my hair mask has remained unchanged. Not only does this smell unreal, it also gives my hair some added hydration when I need it!

A mask will not solve a bad hair routine but in combination with decent shampoos and conditioners (the Dream Lengths range is fantastic), this will definitely help improve your hair health!

L'Oréal Elvive's Dream Lengths Hair Mask is available from Boots for €6.29 and is currently in their 3 for 2 offer. You can also try the whole range, including the No Haircut Cream for €14.82.

Neutrogena Clean and Defend Wash-Mask

I love this mask because you can use it as a face wash as well, depending on your mood you can decide between a wash and a mask in one product!

This really helps problematic areas of my skin and even when I just use it as a mask, it definitely helps angry spots calm down.

I haven't used a huge range of Neutrogena products (pretty much just this and the majority of the Hydro Boost line, which I love!) but from what I have used, I have yet to find a product that lets me down.

Neutrogena's Clean and Defend Wash-Mask is available from Superdrug for £4.99.

I just realised that all of my favourite masks are orange but it definitely keeps with the Halloween theme!

This Halloween might be a different one but you can definitely look after yourself and you skin by giving it a little extra TLC!

What are your favourite face masks?

Halloween Beauty Must-Haves!

Hey guys!

Halloween is so close now and I am beyond excited for it! I love dressing up and of course everything that comes along with it, especially the falling leaves.

So many brands come out with Halloween lines and this year, they do not disappoint. I've rounded up my must-haves for this year and cannot wait to get my hands on all of them!

Lush Monsters Ball Bomb

Returning from last year, Monsters Ball has hit Lush stores once again and I am so happy. Not only does it fill your bath with a cosmic array of colours but this little guy smells so citrusy and fresh. It is the perfect addition to any autumnal bath and I will definitely be stocking up before it disappears again.

Monsters Ball retails for €5.25 and is available in Lush stores nationwide.

Penneys Pierced Nails

I love Penneys nails and don't think you can ever go wrong with picking up a set, provided you pick up some better glue at the same time! Pierced nails aren't a new trend but these black ones are perfect for adding some edge to any look this Halloween and for the price, it's a total bargain.

Pitch Black Pierced Nails retail for €2.50 and are available in Penneys stores nationwide.

NYX Professional Makeup Cosmic Metals Lip Cream

Whether you're dressing up as a witch, fairy, unicorn or princess this year, one of the cosmic metals will definitely complete your makeup look. The pigmented lip cream, combined with a shiny gloss adds the perfect glistening effect to make your lips eye-catching and memorable. The range comes in eighteen different shades and looks absolutely fab!

The Cosmic Metals Lip Creams retail for €10.50 are available in Arnotts and selected pharmacies nationwide.

Essence Cosmetics Superlast Waterproof Eyeliner

I picked this eyeliner up while I was in Italy and paid less than €2.50 for it and it did not disappoint at all! It is very pigmented, doesn't have a patchy application and lasts all day! The applicator is small enough to draw intricate designs or graphic liner for whatever makeup look you're going for this year!

The Superlast Waterproof Eyeliner is available from Penneys and selected pharmacies nationwide.

Sleek Distorted Dreams Highlighter Palette
I think this palette is so similar to ABH Moonchild and the variety of shades means you can have a popping highlight for almost every outfit. The green and lilac shades are perfect for cosmic looks while the pink and peach shades would give that a more subtle glowly highlight.

Distorted Dreams retails for €13.99 and is available in Boots nationwide.

Lusso Self Tan Lotion

This tan (medium) is the tan of dreams. It is a buildable tan so if you don't think one layer is enough, it's quick drying and easy to add a second layer. It also has an unbelievably natural colour so if you're planning on being an oompa loompa, this tan isn't for you.

I find a layer of tan just makes me feel so much better about myself and I feel fab when I have tan on. A good tan can make any outfit better in my opinion!

Lusso Self Tan Lotion retails for €22.30 and is available from lussotan.com.

Make Up For Ever False Lashes

Make Up For Ever have such a cool range of false lashes that are perfect for Halloween. Whether you're going for a super dramatic eye look and need the perfect over-the-top lashes or you just want some added volume,  you'll find them here!

Most of the lashes retail for €17 and are available from MUFE stores and concessions nationwide.

Lush Bewitched Bath Bomb

Lush are just knocking it out of the park with this year's collection! I haven't had a chance to pop in to see the full range yet but from the pictures I have seen online, I will definitely be picking this one up! This cute bath bomb turns your water black and if that isn't a colour to match my mood at the end of a long day, I don't know what is!

There's something about a black bath that's so intriguing and I cannot wait to try this one out!

Bewitched retails for €5.75 and is available in Lush stores nationwide.

While you're enjoying an evening bath or watching a movie while getting ready, there are some Halloween classics that you have to watch with your favourite drink and seasonal sweets!

Halloweentown

Halloweentown is a Disney classic that spun into a series that defined my Halloween traditions when  I was younger. My brother, sister and I used to watch one, if not all of the movies before we went trick or treating and I have to watch it every year now. Otherwise, it just doesn't feel the same!

Hocus Pocus

How someone can go through October and not watch this movie is beyond me. Granted, it scared me at times when I was younger but it is always on some TV channel on Halloween and if it's on, I have to watch it!

It is such a classic Halloween movie and although I'd love a sequel, it's perfect the way it is, and does not, in any way, need a remake.

What are your Halloween must-haves this year, or your movie suggestions?
What are you dressing up as?

American Candy : Halloween

So I obviously have a sweet tooth.....
American Soda have once again sent me some American Candy to try but this time it was full of Halloween/Autumnal candy!

Even though you can get Snickers here, I've never had one. I loved this bar. Although, I could only eat it one half at a time. I would eat a snickers again but maybe a snack size bar.

Obviously this popping candy is artificially flavoured but I loved this one! It didn't taste like watermelon but the popping in my mouth that I loved.

I definitely preferred the Cotton Candy Pop Rocks, it has a slight candy floss flavour and again, the poppiing in my mouth amused me to no end!

If you've ever seen an American Halloween movie, you have definitely seen candy corn. I have always wanted to try it and I was so happy to find a bag in the box when I opened it! Not gonna lie, I totally thought it would be a hard candy but it was soft and chewy! Candy Corn is without a doubt, an acquired taste. It is super sugary and I couldn't eat more than a few pieces at a time but after a while I liked the taste.

I love Unicorn pops! It took me ages to finish it but it was so good.

M&Ms are without a doubt my favourite chocolate/sweet. You just can't fault them. They're amazing.

Thanks to Ben over at American Soda for sending me these lovely goodies!

Zombie Inspired Halloween Makeup

Still in my 1989 daze.....
But I decided to post my Halloween tutorial anyway!
I love Halloween so much! Getting to use makeup I can't use on an everyday basis is so fun :)

This year I have decided to be a zombie. The makeup I am doing for this look is so easy to follow and I'm sure you guys will have fun with it too!
Here's a little preview of the finished look:

Everything I used for this look I already had in my makeup collection so you shouldn't have to go out and buy anything new..... you'll just have to do a bit of brush scrubbing when you are finished!

To start off I moisturised my skin so the makeup would not dry out my skin too much. After that, I used my foundation and put on a normal base coat,  followed by powder. After I had my base coat on, I got a white eyeshadow and dusted it around my face using a blender brush. This helped my skin look paler than it normally would be.

To get the 'bruised' or 'rotting' spots on my face, I got an old bronzer brush and some black eyeshadow. All you have to do then is dab the eyeshadow onto the corners of your forehead until you get the colour desired. For the cheekbones, you apply the eyeshadow as if it was bronzer and drag the end of the line down your face.

After the bruises are done, move onto the eyes. For this you will need red and black eyeshadow, black liquid eyeliner and eyeshadow brushes. Apply the black under your eye and continue onto your lid. Messily blend the black all over your eyelid and use a blending brush to blend the eyeshadow further. Just under your brow bone and under your eye, apply some red eyeshadow using a different brush. Blend the two colours together and your eyes are done!

To get the black blood dripping from your eyes, you will need a black liquid eyeliner and a steady hand! Draw a line from your tear duct to the edge of your lid for both eyes (just like winged eyeliner but without the wing!). On the corner of each eyelid, extend the liner down your face in a jagged line. Draw random lines coming out of each line until you are satisfied with the look. On one of your eyes, do the same as the outside but draw this one from your tear duct.

For the lips, line them with the same eyeliner and extend the bottom lip up slightly. On the extended line, draw two parallel lines downwards to make them look like stitches. After your lips are lined, get a red lipstick (or any other colour you think suits) and do your lips. I decided to dab more eyeliner on my lips and blend it in using an old concealer brush at the end - you do not have to do this if you don't want to but I love the look of it!

This look is so simple to achieve and I loved doing it.
What is everyone else dressing up as for Halloween?
Do you think you'll be a zombie?
