Things to Do in London

Hey guys!

I'm no stranger to London and am going back next week so I decided to do a post about all my favourite things to do in London!

Platform 9 3/4

I'm heading back to the city with a group of fellow Potter lovers and will inevitably end up back at Platform 9 3/4. Located in Kings Cross Station, this luggage cart attracts countless Potter fans each day and now has a Platform 9 3/4 store next door!

Taking a picture is free and the staff even have scarves belonging to each house!

City Lights at Night

I love hitting up the tourist spots at night because the lights are gorgeous (and less people around is always a plus). Getting the tube to Westminster means you can see Big Ben and the London Eye at night all lit up and then get the tube to Embankment then to Piccadilly Circus to catch the blinding lights at night!

Camden Lock & Market

I love the Camden and the general vibe of the market. Full of exotic food, fab vintage shops and some unreal record stores, I always find myself getting lost in Camden Town.

It's also home to the Cereal Killer Café, a café that only serves cereal from other countries and weird but yummy concoctions that include Unicorn Poop. I'm not one for cereal but I love the café!

Cocktail Bars

I don't have a favourite bar in London because I love finding a new place every time I go. Finding a good cocktail bar is half the fun of it and I love checking out a different part of the city.

Portobello Market

Without anything particular to purchase in mind, Portobello Market is great to walk around and just window shop. From antiques to clothes to food, there's something for everyone.

Shoreditch

From street art to Boxpark, the world's first pop-up shopping experience, Shoreditch is a great place to experience London.

What are your favourite things to do in London?

London Makeup Haul

If you follow me on social media, you'll know that I was in London towards the end of August. While there, I couldn't help picking up some makeup in Superdrug and other stores that we don't have in Ireland!

I picked up products from Makeup Revolution, MUA, KIKO, the Make Up Store and L'Oréal.

Makeup Revolution is one of my favourite budget beauty brands. They are fantastic at releasing great quality dupes for high end products. Their Blushing Hearts collection is a dupe of Too Faced's Sweetheart Blush collection. I have been lusting over Goddess of Love for months and I was so happy that it was in stock. Goddess of Love is a triple baked highlighter that gives off a golden sheen. I have not used it yet but I cannot wait to review it for you guys!

Goddess of Love can be bought in selected Superdrug stores and on the Makeup Revolution website for £4.99.

The Good Life Mono Eyeshadow is a gorgeous highlight shade with a pink sheen. I bought this shade with the intention to use it in maroon smokey eyes for the autumn and winter months.

All of the Mono Eyeshadows can be bought in selected Superdrug stores or on the Makeup Revolution website for £1.

I have heard so many great things about MUA LUXE's Bronze & Sculpt Contour Kit that I just had to try it for myself!

The Bronzer and Highlighter are both lightweight powders that I cannot wait to try out.
At only £5, this contour kit can definitely give other kits a run for their money!

You can buy the Bronze & Sculpt Contour Kit in Superdrug stores and on the MUA website!

KIKO is an Italian makeup brand that have stores across Europe. Their store on Regent Street is the closest to us and it is always packed! There were so many Infinity Eyeshadows that I would have loved but the majority of the shades I wanted were not in stock. In the end I picked up Shade 284 - Silver.

All of the Infinity Eyeshadows were on sale for £1.80, you can also purchase them from the KIKO website.

The Make Up Store is a Swedish makeup brand that has taken European bloggers by storm over the past few months. I came across the store when I was exploring Shoreditch and decided to take a look at the shops in Boxpark.

Diva is one of their Microshadows and I love the maroon shade so much. Obviously my obsession with the colour has spread through my lipstick collection and into my eyeshadow collection.

The second product I picked up in the Make Up Store was their Tinted Eye Primer. I needed a new primer because I am not a fan of MUA's primer. Honestly, I just don't think it works.

The primer usually retails for £13 and the eyeshadow is normally £11.
The Makeup Store had a sale on so I picked up the eyeshadow and the primer for £5 each!

Liquid eyeliner is a staple in my makeup bag and I lost mine on the second day. Funnily enough I found it when I arrived home but I still caved and bought one while I was over there. I am no stranger to L'Oréal's Super Liner range but I have never tried the Ultra Precision one so I had to buy it when I saw it in Boots! The gold packaging was also pretty nice....

The Super Liner eyeliner cost £6.49 in Boots.

Have you tried any of these brands before?
What did you think of them?

Lush Haul Oxford Street

I went to London last week with my sister and a few friends to finish the summer on a nice note before the stress of sixth year. No trip to London would be complete without a trip to the new Lush store on Oxford Street. Although I didn't go crazy I did pick up whatever exclusives they had in stock and a few of my favourites as well!

On my first trip (Yes there were two) I picked up three bath bombs and a facial cleanser. I have never used Angels on Bare Skin before but I had heard amazing things about it and decided to pick up a 250g tub for £17. I love how soft it makes my skin feel and it is definitely a product I will be repurchasing!

Fizzbanger and Avobath are available in Ireland but I couldn't resist picking them up while I was in the store! Fizzbanger has a citussy apple scent that is so divine and will make your bath smell lovely and fresh. Avobath also has a citrussy scent, due to the lemongrass oil and I cannot wait to relax in the bath with candles and Netflix with this bath bomb! Both Fizzbanger and Avobath cost £3.35.

I couldn't open Intergalactic to show you guys how amazing it looks because it got slightly crushed on the flight and the dust would've gone everywhere! It smells like peppermint and has so many different colours on the surface I can't imagine what it will look like in the bath! The description alone was enough to convince me to buy it, I mean who doesn't want to be the guardian of their own galaxy? I picked up Intergalactic for £3.95.

On my next trip I bought two Oxford Street exclusives - Ylang Song and Shark Infested Custard. Ylang Song is a floral scented bath bomb that turns the bath a delicate green shade as well as flower petals that float around in the water. I picked up Ylang Song for £3.35.

Shark Infested Custard is part of the luxury bath oils range that is exclusive to Oxford Street. I found it so hard to pick just one bath oil as they were all so enchanting but I finally decided on Shark Infested Custard because the colour is so vibrant and it smells just like custard! All of the luxury bath oils cost £2.

If you find yourself in London in the next while, visiting the Lush store on Oxford Street should definitely be on your list!
Keep an eye out on my instagram to see how all these products look in the bath!

Have you visited the Oxford Street store?
What did you pick up?

London Trip and MY BIRTHDAY

Okay so I did not post last weekend because I was in LONDON with my family!

It is such a beautiful city, I loved it so much. I arrived on Friday and left Sunday night so it was a bit of a rushed trip to get everything done but we did. On Friday we spent ages in Harrods. All the windows were filled with stunning Christmas displays and the Christmas shop was lovely.
They really went to a lot of effort and it truly does pay off. Each window is different and my favourite was the Ballerina trinket box because it reminded me of The Nutcracker :)

On Saturday I did all my shopping! I only shopped on Regent Street and Oxford Street, it literally took the whole day! My favourite thing I bought has to be the maroon oversized jumper I got in H&M, it's so cute and cozy. I purely bought it because I have been looking for a jumper long enough to wear with knee highs for a while and I fell in love with the jumper as soon as I saw it!

I ended up buying a lot of makeup in Superdrug as well. It is so sad that we don't have any over here but I love the store so much! I got the iconic one, two and three palettes from Makeup Revolution, some bronzer and blusher from MUA, the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and I bought some lipstick and lip liner in KIKO.

I bought a lot more but if I was to list everything, I would be here all day!

On Saturday evening, I went to see Big Ben in the dark. It was absolutely beautiful!

On Sunday, it was sightseeing day :)
The first place we went to was the Tate Modern and I only went in to see Rothko's paintings. Although I did not feel any overpowering emotions when I saw the paintings, I cannot deny that they are amazing works of art!

After the Tate we went to see the poppies which were in the process of being removed but they really were beautiful! We saw the Shard, the bridge that the death eaters attacked in Harry Potter
Towards the end of the day we made our way to Buckingham Palace and walked through St.James' Park. I don't think I have seen that many squirrels in one place ever!
I was staying in a penthouse in Vincent Square and the apartment was so pretty!

So, TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! I'm finally 17 :)
I had a half day in school so I got out at around one which was fab!
I had a lovely dinner with the fam and my mum made me the nicest victoria sponge cake (thanks mum!).

I got wonderful cards from my family and I am so grateful for the presents I got as well. I am having my party in a few weeks so that should be fun!

Happy Birthday to me

Have any of you guys been to London recently?
Let me know what your favourite thing to do in the city is!

Ciara.
