New Year Resolutions 2016

2015 was a year full of new experiences and memories for me. I made new friends, put more effort into blogging, started and ended relationships and overall I was just happier.

There is nothing else I would rather be than happy. I spent time with family and friends, had more time to myself and I saw some of my favourite people ever (Taylor) in concert.

2016 is quite possibly the biggest year of my life so far. I've got the Leaving Cert in June and hopefully I'll be starting my law degree in September.

So for 2016, I have a few New Year Resolutions that will help me be a happier and healthier person in the year ahead.

I plan to study more in 2016. I've gotten into the habit of not studying on the weekend and it's one I need to break. The mocks are less than a month away and then I only have about five months until June.

Being 'happy' is not as simple as the word implies. I want to be a happier person in 2016 and in order to do that I need to look after myself more. I want to drink more water which will help my skin and my energy levels, I want to exercise at least 4 times a week to relieve stress, eating healthy and losing some weight will help me be happier and finally, the 3/4am Netflix marathons need to stop. Everyone loves a good Netflix binge but I need to go to sleep earlier so I can wake up happier!

The dreaded points system.... obviously my major goal for 2016 is to get the points I need for my course in UCD. I need 500+ points but as long as I put my head down and concentrate on the long term goal, I know I can get the points I need!

Letting people get you down is something everyone is guilty of. It's also something I don't want to do anymore. If you don't like me, that's cool. Chances are you're not my cup of tea either.  I'm not going to let other people get me down anymore.

If being a fan of Taylor Swift has taught me anything, it has taught me this.
"You are not the opinion of somebody who doesn't know you or care about you"

So there you have it.
My New Year Resolutions.
What are your resolutions?

My Current Feel Good Playlist

Everybody loves to feel good and music is definitely a method to help you feel good and let loose!
With the year ahead in school I definitely need a feel good playlist and I thought I would share mine with you guys!

You might have heard Eric Hutchinson's song 'Tell The World' on the new Windows ad. I love this song so much. I think it's about enjoying the simple things in life and creating memories with the people you love.

Check out the song on YouTube!

'Clean' is the last track on Taylor Swift's album 1989 (not the deluxe version!). This song has a different meaning for everyone and for me it is about letting go of someone (or something) in the past and looking towards a new future. Although it is a slow song, Clean makes me feel optimistic about the future which in turn makes me feel good. Her speech before this song on each tour date is different and if you have not heard one before, check them out on tumblr!

Tay is super protective about her music so you won't find 'Clean' on YouTube...

'Diet Soda Society' is such a chill song. I love The Maine and this song just relaxes me.

Check out the band on YouTube!

Hailee Steinfeld's debut single is the ultimate love yourself song! Although some of the lyrics in 'Love Myself' are racy, the general theme of the song is feeling good on your own, without needing other people to do so. I could literally dance around to this song all day!

If you haven't heard the song, check it out!

My absolute favourite feel good song is Rachel Platten's 'Fight Song'. For anyone going through a hard time, this song is a reminder that you have to keep fighting. You have to fight for what you believe in and fight to show everyone that you've got what it takes.

You will feel empowered but just listening to the song, I cannot describe how much I adore the melody and the lyrics!

What are your favourite 'feel good' songs?
Let me know in the comments below!

1989 World Tour Dublin

I have been so busy with family and work over the past week and a half that I didn't have a chance to post anything.

Last night I got to see my idol, Taylor Swift as part of the 1989 World Tour and it was the best night ever. If you didn't see my post back in October, after the release of 1989 (Here it is!), then you won't know I'm a swiftie. I love Taylor. She is just fab and her music is amazing.

I had standing tickets for the show so I got to the arena at around 1pm with my sister. There were already about 50 people in front of us in the queue! We sat down for a few hours and made friends with the girls beside us in the line. Doors were supposed to be 6:30pm but they opened them at 6:45pm because they were running late.

When the doors opened everyone literally ran in. I had planned to go to the Taylor Nation Booth and my sister went straight to standing. I couldn't find the booth so I just went to my sister WHO WAS SECOND ROW.

After almost six hours of queuing and months of waiting, I was second row at my idol's concert. When Vance Joy came on, the crowd pushed forward and it was horrendous. I barely had any room and the girl behind me kept trying to get in front of me by elbowing me out of the way - not cool girl, not cool.

When Taylor came out, it was amazing. Everyone was screaming and she just stood there after Welcome To New York taking in the crowd.

I danced all night long and sang every lyric. It was just amazing. Taylor is so good live and the whole show is just a phenomenal production. I cannot even begin to imagine the amount of work she put into planning the tour!

Bad Blood is one of my favourite songs off the album and I waved my signs like crazy during the song! When Taylor walked down the catwalk she stared at them for a couple seconds and myself and the girl beside me went crazy because she noticed us !

It was such a good show and by the time I got home, my ears were ringing, my feet was sore, my voice was croaky and I was ready to fall into bed.

Definitely one of the best nights ever. I cannot wait until Taylor comes back again.

Her dancers are amazing as well. They're pretty good looking too (especially Christian).

Have you ever been to see Taylor in concert?
Were you there last night?

1989

Okay so.....

Today's post was going to be a Halloween makeup tutorial but I just bought 1989, Taylor Swift's new album so I got sidetracked...
Instead of a Halloween makeup tutorial, I'm gonna do a post on Taylor's new album because it is flawless.

I had to trek all over Cork just to find the album - every single store I went to was sold out of the deluxe version (AHHHHHHHHHHH NO!) so I eventually settled for the normal version because I couldn't wait any longer!
The CD case comes in a box which has the exact same cover as the case. It's a polaroid of Taylor (well half of her face anyway)

Every album comes with thirteen polaroid pictures of Taylor with  lyrics printed on the bottom. There's a total of sixty-four polaroids out there and you can get 1-13, 14-26 and so on. I got #14 to #26 and mine range from black and white to blurred. I think the polaroids are a really nice touch because it makes the album seem a lot more personal.
There is thirteen tracks on the album. Just in case you are not a Taylor Swift fan, thirteen is her lucky number, hence the repetitive thirteens.
Here is the tracklist:
1. Welcome to New York
2. Blank Space
3. Style
4. Out Of The Woods
5. All You Had To Do Was Stay
6. Shake It Off
7. I Wish You Would
8. Bad Blood
9. Wildest Dreams
10. How You Get The Girl
11. This Love
12. I Know Places
13. Clean

I instantly fell in love with Style. It is an upbeat song written by Taylor, Max Martin, Shellback and Ali Payami. I won't even try do a track-by-track review because I would be here all night and it would go on for pages.

Basically, in this album, Taylor waved goodbye to her country roots and officially broke into pop music. Each track tells a new story with a different beat. I have had the CD for three hours and it has been on repeat since I got into the car. I'm still listening to it now, all cozy in my bed because it's raining outside :(

Taylor, your fifth studio album will definitely be a hit. The music is easy to dance to and the lyrics are so catchy! The only thing that would make this music even better IS TO HEAR IT LIVE. PLEASE BRING THE TOUR TO IRELAND THIS TIME!

Love's a game, wanna play?

Ciara.
