5 Quick and Easy Hairstyles

Heya!

The past week has been so busy! I had test after test in school so I didn't have any time to post. Having little spare time did benefit me in some sense though. I had a tiny amount of time each morning to do my hair as I got up early to revise and left very little time to do my hair and get dressed each morning. As a result of this, I decided to do a quick tutorial on each hairstyle I used this week :)

On Monday, I went for the classic high pony look. All you have to do to achieve this look is hoist your hair up at the crown of your head and secure with a thick elastic band. Similar to the picture, I added a cute bow to my hair after I had tied it up.

On Tuesday I felt particularly lazy and went for a side-braided look. I don't particularly like 'slicked back' hair so I aimed for a messy braid look. I started by spraying some dry shampoo into my roots, this helped me achieve a high volume look. I use batiste, I just love the brand as it's reasonably priced and does not have a lingering smell. After I had done my simple braid, I pulled each hair segment out a little to make it look purposely loose and messy. The great thing about this is that you can re-do the braid throughout the day - even without a mirror!

I hit the midweek slum on Wednesday and just decided to pile my hair onto my head, literally! I went for a messy bun look on Wednesday. Before I piled my hair up, I teased it with a comb to give it extra volume. Leaving a few bits down to help frame my face. I gathered all my hair up onto the top of my head and twisted it until all of my hair was into the bun. Then I fastened it with a bobbin and voila! I was ready to head out the door.

I took this pic during the summer *sigh* Anyway, I plaited my hair before I went to bed on Wednesday and slept in those plaits. When I woke up on Thursday, I took the plaits out and messed my hair up a bit. When my hair was nice and messy, I moved my middle parting to the side so the front of my hair looked more voluminous.

On Friday, I went au natural and left my hair the way it naturally is. I brushed through my hair quite quickly and fluffed it slightly from the roots so it wasn't dead straight.

All of these hairstyles took less than five minutes and lasted throughout the day!

Have you already tried any of these hairstyles?
Do you have any other styles I could try?
Let me know in the comments below!

Revlon ColorBurst Crayon Matte Balm

The Revlon Matte Balms are my favourite lip product out there at the moment! The balms are creamy, pigmented and long lasting. I can easily get 3-4 hours out of these without fading or feeling I need to reapply! The balm itself doesn't feel hydrating but they keep my lips soft and silky throughout the day. These balms also have a minty scent which I love! It is not a strong minty scent, it is a soft minty scent that I absolutely adore!

The balms come in plastic “twist-up” packaging, and the first thing I noticed is the super creamy consistency.  The product glides onto the lips with such ease, and the finish is a velvety matte, as opposed to dry looking.  I find that matte lip colors will often emphasise dryness in the lips, but these don’t at all.

All in all, I would definitely recommend these lip products! My favourite is No.215 - Shameless. It is a deep purple colour that may not suit some but it is perfect if you are going for an edgy look on a night out or going to a concert!

The balms retail at €10.99 in Boots and are currently on a 3 for 2 offer (You get the cheapest item free)!

Have you heard of and/or tried the Revlon Matte Balms?
Love 'em? Hate 'em?

Do share! :)

Back to School Skin Routine

Heya guys!

So if you haven't already gone back to school/college, you will be soon! I've been back for a week now and it feels like I never left! Although I love seeing my friends, I don't love the workload at all!
Another thing I hate about school is the 'Back to school breakout', it happens to all of us. The stress and daily life of school takes a toll on our skin and causes spots and breakouts.

I'm not allowed wear makeup to school so I can't cover-up. Sad - I know! I do however, keep up a skin routine that helps keep my skin clear!

You should wash your face at least twice a day. That can be just a splash of water and a dab of moisturiser in the morning and then a proper wash at night or vice-versa. I prefer to do the full routine at night because I have more time to spare.

The three golden words in facial care are; Cleanse, tone and moisturise (In that order too!). Sadly, I have dry, sensitive skin so all the products I use cater to my skin. However, most of the products I use will work on most types of skin!

To start off, I wash my face using a face cloth and lukewarm water. Then I use the Yves Rocher Pure Camille Deep Cleansing Gel. The face wash is suitable for all skin types and can be used on a daily basis! After using the face wash I rinse my face using the lukewarm water and start on the toner.

For the toner, I use the Simple Kind to Skin Soothing Facial Toner. I dab some of the toner onto a cotton pad and gently rub it all over my face and neck. Simple specialises in products suitable for sensitive skin and I love their products as it does not dry out my skin at all!

Lastly I moisturise my skin using the Garnier Moisture Match - Goodbye Dry Ultra-Hydrating Rich Cream (The pink one). I literally adore this stuff! I was sceptical at first as it's hard to find a moisturiser that actually works on my skin and it really worked from the start. If you have dry skin, I would highly recommend using the pink garnier moisture match!

I do this routine every night and it really helps to keep my skin clear!

I hope going back to school isn't too bad for everyone!
